DID YOU KNOW!
Over 2/3 of the average household bin is recyclable. Approximately a quarter of the bin contains used packaging that can be recycled, with a further one third being compostable kitchen and garden waste. According to Repak research 99% of us recycle regularly from the kitchen most of us don’t recycle from the bedroom, bathroom or home office.

Glass Recycling Tips:
Ensure all glass bottles are cleaned and rinsed of any residual liquids. This helps keep flies and wasps away by removing any sugary residue. You don't need to scrub off the labels, since they will burn up when the glass is melted down for recycling.
Use reusable boxes or bags for collecting up your glass recyclables and bringing them to your local recycling facilities. Please do not leave used boxes or bags at local recycling banks as this is littering and subject to the usual litter fines.
Keep glass colours properly separated and please do not leave used glass on the ground at recycling banks as this slows collection and attracts unwanted dumping.
Paper Recycling Tips:
Ensure all cardboard and paper is kept clean and dry. Flatten all used cardboard boxes and remove any plastic inserts or windows. Fold used paper rather than scrunching it up, as this aids segregation and takes up less space in recycling bins.
Electrical Recycling Tips
Recycle any old or broken electrical items in your local recycling centres or by returning them to an electrical shop. Under law all shops selling electrical items are required to take back old used items on a one for one or a like for like basis (e.g. old kettles for new kettle).
