Tidy Towns 2011
Preparation is underway for this year's entry. New volunteers are always welcome - please keep an eye on the 'news' section for details of meetings, spring clean etc and feel free to come along.
Tidy Towns 2010
Adjudication for Tidy Towns takes place from 1 June. Thanks to all our volunteers for your help with watering flowers and litter patrol. If you haven't yet signed up to volunteer please give your name to Niamh or Annie and we will be happy to include you on the rota!
Recycling Facilities in Abbey
Bottle banks have been installed in the Community Centre carpark with recycling facilities for clear, green and dark glass bottles. Please dispose appropriately of bags and boxes used to carry empty bottles. More tips on glass reycling available here.
There is a collection point in Holohan's Shop for batteries and bulbs.
Please check with your local IFA representative about recycling of silage wrap.
Details of recycling facilities in Ballinasloe and Galway provided by Galway County Council are available in a booklet in Holohan's Shop.
Tidy Towns 2009
Congratulations to everyone involved in our Tidy Towns effort, we are delighted to announce an increase of 3 points on 2008 resulting in first place in County Galway for the fifth year in a row.
